to
grab on to the promised hope and not let go.
Hebrews 6 / The Message |

We ritual
abuse survivors live in a netherworld. We are not
children, yet a child cries within us. We are adults, but
it's painfully hard for us to live in an adult
world... What most people take for granted - clear
thinking, organized activity, play and friendships are
hard-won victories, every one. We long for
someone to walk with us to healing, to weep with us.

Sexual Abuse Survior's
Awesome guidelines for empathetic listening
(CAUTION: This site has pagan/wiccan orientation. We
are looking for a biblically based site with information on
listening skills. If you know of one, please share it with
us).
If
you are going to work with ritual abuse survivors, you
must also get educated if you want to be effective. And
you must learn to be humble. Trauma survivors do not need
to be around ignorant, modern-day Pharisees. Survivors in
pain need people who will connect with them on an
emotional level, get right down in there where they are,
and listen. --Kathleen Sullivan |
