Solving The Puzzle: Finding Help
Finding the help you need is similar to putting the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle together. Whether your need is for yourself, your children, spouse, or entire family, your task is to find the therapist who can best help you. While there is excellent therapy available, there is also poor and abusive therapy. Sometimes, people simply go to the wrong therapist for their personality and needs. In these cases, the puzzle pieces never fit together.  One major factor in successful therapy is the relationship that develops between you and your psychotherapist. This link goes to an article that describes the pieces of the puzzle or effective therapy.

If you are going to work with ritual abuse survivors, you must also get educated if you want to be effective. And you must learn to be humble. Trauma survivors do not need to be around ignorant, modern-day Pharisees. Survivors in pain need people who will connect with them on an emotional level, get right down in there where they are, and listen. --Kathleen Sullivan
